Pendekar Sanders and Pendekar Mama Sukarma's Speech

I have for the past number of years turned into a slayer of untruths, slanders and misinformation circulated by various people with hidden agendas. One by one, systematically I have slain them all by using simply the true facts.

Lately one group, compiled of a few people bent on making us look bad at any cost, went on a campaign to try and convince the other readers on their forum of various untruths they had surely found of me, my certificate, rank and teacher, Pendekar Mama and in their infinite wisdom, by simply being a born Indonesian they must be listened to on matters concerning Pencak Silat.

Some with good intentions who thought they were upholding the Honor of the arts jumped on their band wagon before the evidence was even obtained. I was fully convicted without a shred of evidence from the author of the document. On and on they ranted, they said my teachers name of Pendekar Mama Sukarma (I just call him Pendekar Mama) was absurd. On and on they went sitting high on their Indonesian birth right, casting down a lowly eye at a Westerner who was so stupid to ever imagine such a thing as a name like Pendekar Mama could be, they said I was a fool, he only existed in my head.

It was like saying Pendekar Uncle, Uncle Who, ha ha ha they went. Added to this terribly stupid thing that could only come from "California Silat” was their “fact” that my certificate from him was not real, why, because it had no registration number on it. First they made their rule that his certificate must have a number, then they declared it surely is fake because it did not adhere to a rule they themselves fabricated!

Then they claimed there was a missing word in the print, despite the fact many scholars of Arabic and Indonesian, told them it was not so. Believe it or not other sheep on this site then chimed in, yes it must be so! Of course we all know a few of them have multiple names they go by to make it seem more are on their side, so that portion could be misleading. How proud they were of their deep inherited wisdom of their culture. Their fairy tales grew, my sash had a misspelled word, more proof my rank was not so.

Next I had someone take Photo Shop to the poor illiterate man (wait I thought he did not exist!) and of course in their version somehow even though he could not read this certificate, as it was in English, they said, he signed it anyway. So they were saying he must be really stupid to just sign a legal looking document he could not read at all! Of course again in their version he was a cave man, not nearly smart enough to actually make it to a town where he could get a translated copy of his words made up nicely in certificate form from a print shop to send me, his representative, no he could never have been smart enough to do that! (wait I thought they were on a soap box about respecting the elders of Pencak Silat in Indonesia).

Then I could never have been shown all of Cimande because I am not Muslim and it is a Muslim art, also because of that it really has no mystical or magick side, see I just made that up. Somewhere in their whirl wind of attacks, built with a very poor foundation (no one ever had the wits to think of just asking this make believe guy, whose address by the way appeared one day along with his name, sent to them in Indonesian by a man asking for unity among the schools, this post was never by the way mentioned until one of our guys brought it up, still they conveniently did not comment on it, so they knew how to reach him to ask if they wanted to) .

Eventually because of many posts to them from people who actually do know stuff that they should have, they were forced to admit that, well, I guess his first name he uses is Mama and well, I guess, yes he is Pendekar Mama Sukarma with Mama as a first name, not simply an endearment. They said they were sorry about that but never really said, as they should have how sorry they were of making fun of me, how lowly it made them look to have such bad manners, going on and on, accusing me of not knowing a thing that it turns out they did not realize.

Adding insult to injury they quickly added they were sure they were correct on my "dodgy certificate” being fake. Then they questioned Pendekar Mama's lineage acting as though if he were not the main tourist Guru of the village he must not be among the best and he needed to be checked out!  Can you imagine these Maha’s of misinformation wanted to have him checked out. Who checked these guys out?

Upon hearing these things were being said by his own people Pendekar Mama Sukarma wanted to put some words on video tape for all to hear and see. Spoken in his own language so those in Indonesia can hear it and pay attention and a written transcript in English was supplied to me.

Please view the tape, read the transcript and see for yourself who, once again was full of misinformation, lies and biased slanderous remarks filled with hate. Remember all of it could have been avoided by just doing the honorable thing and checking with the man first before the character assassination began.

However that would only hold true coming from honorable people really wanting to hear his side and the facts before lowering themselves into making false allegations. Here you can see the real motif was never about the culture or the truth, it was a veiled excuse, painted honorably on the outside in which to launch a dirty smear campaign from a few who only wanted to hurt us at any cost or any lie.

Note my certificate copy he is holding in his own very hands as he talks of it! He wanted to hold this copy so there would be no misunderstanding of what it looks like, what it says, and the fact he gave it to me, no matter who says what of misspelled words etc. This is the very one he was said to have not understood, had no number on it, had misspelled words, all the things said to prove he was not the author, not true, not true, not true! 

Note what he says of my relationship with him and about the certificate, which was made the way it looks for the Western world he knew it would go to. Remember also, I have to keep saying this that the true agenda was hate and hurt or they would have just asked the author a very well known Cimande master before the diarrhea of the mouth started.

Also keep in mind I trained in Cimande based arts for over thirty years before I ever met Pendekar Mama. Other respectable members of the Cimande community joined Pendekar Mama in this tape to show support along with their complete knowledge of my certificate, which some of them also had signed, the wording on it and my status with Pendekar Mama so no one could say they did not know what they were signing or witnessing either.

They also added some of their own words backing Mama, one man tells of training with Pendekar Mama for 15 years. Now take heed that it no longer matters in any sense of the word what others say or what their next outrageous claim may be. They have been proven one hundred percent wrong in every slanderous thing they said and so have a credibility factor of zero, like the boy who cried wolf we no longer care what new dirty noise comes from their mouth. They would benefit now by talking of more positive things they can’t get in so much embarrassment for.

I want to also point out to look closely at Pendekar Mama's school drawing right above his seal and you will see the Cabang with the blade we also use flanked by a Kujang on each side. Yet another fallacy exploded of those who speak loudly with authority yet have no actual substance in their words. Here we see a Cimande Master plainly showing the Kujang as a weapon and further he teaches the Kujang Jurus. How do I know, he taught them to me. One can surely say they have not seen it done, or they themselves were never trained in such a way but flatly proclaim all Masters in West Java, Indonesia don’t teach the Kujang as a fighting weapon is clearly wrong and Pendekar Mama is prepared to make another tape saying so if needed. Remember all the things I have said here and that Pendekar Mama has said are a direct result of us being viciously slandered and attacked with lies, insinuations and half truths to attempt to make us look like we made up everything including Pendekar Mama. It has been said that evil triumphs when good men do nothing. We will not sit by and do nothing.

Lastly I would like to point out that Pendekar Mama was very hurt and amazed that people maximizing the power of their words by standing tall on their Indonesian heritage, people who claim to be some authority on the culture of Pencak Silat and its ways, people who expect others to listen to them and believe they follow the correct path would then turn around and violate every single law of Adat and Hormat of Pencak Silat to Pendekar Mama. He was slandered, called a liar along with me, his real name was made fun of as if it did not exist, his spelling was criticized, his intelligence was called into play, just a simple villager, he could not have figured out how to have a nice certificate made for me and on and on. All this he said could have been avoided if they would have been men enough to just go and ask him. He agreed the truth was not what they were looking for.

If it was we expect a humbling apology with no crafted after thought words from those who have been proven wrong. Let us see if they are really men big enough to admit that they were completely wrong and that they have caused much strife and hurt by their false allegations.

One way or the other the truth is out.
